In my two stints at The Denver Post, totaling 30 years of service, I wrote about 10,000 stories, columns and blogs on the constant variety of Colorado sports. I served in a hybrid role as reporter, feature writer at large and columnist, with the specific duties evolving through staff cuts and other changes. Most notably, late in my stay I enjoyed covering the NHL and college football at the same time, doing the scheduling myself to make that feasible.
